From the moment you walk in the door, I want you to feel at home. Your portrait experience is designed to deliver portraits that you and your family will cherish for a very long time, so we don’t rush the process of planning and capturing portraits that suit you and your personality.
I follow a simple three-step process:
We always start with the end in mind. So first of all, we’ll meet in person to discover your needs and intention for your session and figure out the portrait products that suit you best. Then we’ll consider your style and identify colors, make clothing recommendations, and decide a theme for your portraits.
Between the planning session and the portrait session, I’ll be on hand to finalize your clothing choices, advise on portrait locations in your home, and answer any other questions or concerns you have about the session.
This is when the magic happens. We start the session by getting you comfortable and settled into the studio. Over a cup of tea or coffee, we’ll review the session plan and goals and go through the session strategy. Then it’s time to get ready for your performance.
Our hair and makeup artist will be on hand in the dressing area to help you get ready.
Throughout the session, you’ll be guided through both structured and unstructured posing sequences and sets to ensure you have a variety of images to choose from and to make sure you get something you love.
Once the session is complete, we’ll check and make sure that we covered everything we planned to cover and prepare for the selection and ordering appointment.
Portrait Selection and Purchase
After the session, we’ll view the portraits from the session. Because choosing your favorites can sometimes be the hardest part, I’ll walk through it with you using my tested process, guiding you through selecting the right images, the right formats, and the right sizes for your needs based on the discussions we had in the planning stage. If you’ve provided images of your walls, we’ll be able to view the images to scale in your own home.
