timeless portraits...

Imagine seeing a beautiful portrait of yourself above your dressing table - wouldn't you walk a little taller? Imagine your child coming home from school to see their portrait proudly displayed in your hallway, where you enjoy it every day - wouldn't they feel loved?  Imagine seeing the faces of your loved ones every single day - wouldn't that make you feel a part of something larger than yourself?

Portraits displayed in our homes don't just capture our memories. They give us a sense of being valued, of being connected, of being loved.

Portrait commissions start at $1000.

TRADITIONAL PORTRAITS Traditional portraits are finished on canvas and stretched onto a wooden frame. The portrait is varnished with a protective lacquer that is carefully contoured around essential details such as faces. The canvas and lacquer finish combination adds a light texture to the image, softening the portrait slightly and, emphasizing the artistic attitude of your portrait. Traditional portraits typically benefit from heavier, ornamental frames that enhance the subject of the work.

MODERN PORTRAITS Modern portraits are also finished on canvas and stretched onto a wooden frame and varnished in the same way as the traditional portrait. But instead of attaching the canvas to the side of the wooden frame, as with the traditional portraits, modern portraits are finished on the back. Because the image extends around the deep sides of the frame, there is no need for a decorative frame finish, and these are typically hung directly on the wall.  Again, the effect of the canvas is artistic and painterly, but the style that suits this finish is typically cleaner and less detailed than the traditional portrait, emphasizing the modern feel of the work.

BASIC PORTRAITS A basic finish is a standard silver halide photographic print. All prints are coated with a protective finish and mounted on a rigid material that will prevent the print from warping over time. These portraits typically benefit from a simple frame. The basic finish is a great choice for black and white portraits.
